FOREGROUND

Welcome to the first issue of 2019! We are getting off to a great start with a packed issue showcasing some of the region’s most talented designers and planners in the landscaping industry. See our interview with Laila Alawneh a Master Urban Planner on page 28. We also feature some of the region’s top landscape manufacturers and suppliers, including the outdoor furniture company Urbastyle by Consent. Nothing beats kicking the first issue of the year off with some of the most interesting regeneration projects around the globe, learn more about the urban redesign of the public realm areas surrounding one of the Britain’s oldest train stations; Kingdom Street in London’s Paddington Central.

Also featured is Bandera Street which is located in Chile’s capital city, Santiago, at the foot of the Andes mountains. The artist/architect duo who took on the project had only one month to reinvigorate a previously derelict part of downtown Santiago. Wishing all of our readers a Happy New Year!
